Viscosimeter toolset
This tool has been used to test the viscosity of the oil to ensure proper motor function. It is made of stamped metal steel, with three full tubes of oil (each has a specific color). The fourth tube is empty, to be filled with the vehicles oil to make the comparison.
It allows to determine the petrol dilution within the motor oil. In cold regions, the oil was diluted with petrol to prevent from freezing at -40°C.
Principle: the 3 tubes are filled with oil diluted with petrol. 25% / 15% and not diluted.
By turning upside down, we can compare how quickly the air bubble rise and then define the current engine petrol dilution.
